QUESTION: Does floor surface need to be treated before installation? ( Please read this before you install )
ANSWER: OK....your floor must be clean and dry, and free form dust and dirt. If your going over an existing vinyl floor, then you have a wonderful condition to install over. Just make sure you wash & rinse and let it dry over night. If your going over a concrete or plywood floor, I would suggest that you purchase a concrete sealer ( it's pretty cheap ) from a local supply store and use a paint roller to spread a thin coat over the entire sub floor. Let it dry completely. You are now ready to peal and stick your carpet tiles. They will stay down for a long time. As for setting up your starting points and snapping a chalk line, you might want to get one of those free pamphlets that they give out at hardware stores for installing tile. The same principal is used. Once you get your first line completed, your on your way. Use a utility knife with sharp blades. A dull blade will only get you hurt and will produce a poor cut on the carpet tile.
